DuPont™ Tyvek®

DuPont™ Tyvek® - a product brand for construction materials made from compressed high density polyethylene fibers. The product portfolio is made up of extremely strong and durable sheets with different applications. What is special about them is that due to the technology and components used, these sheets are both stronger than paper and more economical (thinner) and flexible than traditional woven membranes, DuPont™ Tyvek® introduces new dimensions of protection, security and safety in the field of building envelopes.

Endurance

DuPont™ Tyvek® is a unique nonwoven material made from 100% high-density polyethylene fibers randomly laid (not woven) and compressed to form extremely strong sheets, with specific applications where durability and tear resistance are of paramount importance. Tyvek® withstands repeated folding and bending without tearing. It can be glued, laminated, sewn, stitched, and fixed.

Tyvek® combines the characteristics of paper, film, and fabric, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

Lightweight

Tyvek® is an extremely light and flexible material. It features a remarkable strength-to-weight ratio.

Tear resistant

DuPont™ Tyvek® is built to perform in tough, durable, and extreme conditions. Water, chemicals, heat, cold, rough handling and prolonged outdoor use. Tyvek® is tear, puncture, water, UV and chemical resistant.

Resistant to water and chemicals

When wet, paper absorbs moisture and disintegrates. Tyvek® repels water, keeping the structure completely intact. Tyvek® is unaffected by most acids, bases, and salts. It has excellent rot and mold resistance and is stain resistant.

Tyvek® can withstand temperatures from -70°C to +118°C. However, at around 80°C some deformation may occur. Tyvek® is made of high-density polyethylene, which can burn; therefore, Tyvek® should not be considered fire-resistant. The only exception is Tyvek® FireCurb®, a fire-resistant breathable membrane for commercial and residential buildings that does not support combustion and is self-extinguishing.

Made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fibers, Tyvek® is 100% recyclable, just like plastic bottles.

Products

DuPont™ Tyvek Solid

Single-layer, highly vapor-permeable, waterproofing, air-tight membrane. It is laid directly on the roof panels or on top of the insulation for warm roofs. Also suitable for wall cladding of wooden modular houses.

Composition:High-density polyethylene

Dimensions:

1.5m x 50m

1.5m x 100m

2.8m x 100m

DuPont™ Tyvek Metal

DuPont™ Tyvek® Metal is a vapor-permeable, waterproof roofing underlayment membrane with an upper

surface of polypropylene threads. Its use leads to a reduction in condensation, ensuring

of micro ventilation, and increasing thermal insulation efficiency. Reduces sound transmission

and allows micro condensation to drain.

Composition: Polypropylene, polyethylene, and aluminum coating.

Vapor permeability Sd: 0.03m

Thickness of Product/Functional layer: 7.40 / 0.22 mm

Gr/m2: 350 g/m2

DuPont™ Housewrap Firecurb

DuPont™ FireCurb brings the water impermeability and high vapor permeability of Tyvek materials, but is enhanced with flame retardant properties. The membrane is self-extinguishing when ignited, and its coating reduces the formation of smoke and burning droplets. It is mainly used for wall cladding of all types of buildings - from bungalows to high-rise buildings. It is laid on the outside of the insulation, it can also be used as a solution for ventilated facades and wooden structures.
Composition: High-density polyethylene.
Functional layer: 175 micron
Vapor permeability Sd: 0.015 (EN ISO 12572 (C)
Water column: 1.3 m (EN20811)
Reaction to fire: B-s1,d0 (EN13501-1) if installed loosely, on mineral wool and cement boards; D-s2, d2 (EN13501-1) if installed on wood
Temperature resistance: -40 to +100 C
UV resistance: 4 months without coating

DuPont™ Tyvek UV Facade

DuPont™ TYVEK UV FACADE is a highly vapor-permeable, waterproofing membrane, that protects against UV rays. It is intended for the protection of open and ventilated facade systems.

Composition: Polyethylene high density and polypropylene.

Vapor permeability: 0.035 – 0.05 m

Water column: 3 m (EN20811)

Temperature resistance: -40 to 80 C

UV resistance: 6 months without covering

DuPont™ Housewrap

DuPont™ Tyvek Housewrap

Single-layer, highly vapor-permeable membrane. It is mainly used for wall-cladding

wooden modular houses as well as steel and concrete structures. The membrane is placed on

the surface fixed directly to plywood/OSB or insulation. Composition: Polyethylene with high

density.
