According to architect Prof. D.Sc. arch. Zheko Tilev, titanium zinc sheet was chosen for its technological possibilities for processing and performance, as well as because it provides color unity with the palace building and Paribas Bank.
During that period, the roofs of similar buildings were most often made of lead sheet, slate plates, or zinc sheet, all in a dark gray tonality.
